What’s a natural hair salon for Black hair?

A natural hair salon works with your hair’s original texture, with no relaxers or treatments that change its structure. At Boucles Addict Studio in Montreal, every appointment aims for healthy, moisturized, well-defined curls that are easy to look after at home.

In practice, that means a cut designed curl by curl, treatments that bring the moisture curly and coily hair needs, and clear advice for your routine. The goal isn’t to hide your curls. It’s to bring them out.

Bianca takes the time to understand your texture, your porosity and how you live with your hair. Every client leaves with curls that look their best and the know-how to keep them that way.

Why see a stylist who specializes in curly and coily hair?

Because curly and coily hair isn’t cut or cared for like straight hair. It shrinks as it dries, gets dry faster and needs gentle detangling. A specialist knows this: she protects your length, avoids breakage and knows how to bring out the natural shape of every curl.

Many clients come in after a bad experience: a cut that turned out far too short once the curls dried, hair brushed out dry, products that weighed everything down. Bianca works with shrinkage instead, cutting gently on dry hair and explaining each step.

Trained in Mauritius and Paris, she has built her career on curly, tightly curled and coily hair. It’s all she does.

What services do you offer for natural Black hair?

The studio offers cuts for curly and coily hair, curl definition, twists, moisture treatments, scalp exfoliation, silk press and colour. For a first visit, the Signature Experience brings together an assessment, a treatment, a cut, definition and a personalized routine.

  • Scissor cuts shaped to your curl type (from $85).
  • Curl definition or twists for a crisp result that lasts (from $75).
  • Moisture treatments and a scalp detox exfoliation ($45).
  • Silk press, temporary straightening with no chemicals (from $100).
  • Colour, root touch-ups, highlights and balayage that work with your curls.
  • Signature Coaching ($180), to learn how to style your own curls.

Do you do braids, locs or wigs?

No. Boucles Addict Studio doesn’t do braids, cornrows, locs or wig installs. The studio is fully dedicated to natural hair worn as it is: cuts, treatments, definition, twists and silk press. That focus lets Bianca go further in what she does best.

If you’re looking for a simple protective style, two-strand twists keep your ends protected while letting your hair breathe. They come out easily and leave a beautifully defined curl behind.

How can I learn to love my natural curls?

Loving your curls often starts with understanding them. Once you know what your texture needs, your hair gets softer, more defined and easier to live with. At the studio, Bianca shows you your curls at their best and gives you simple habits to get them back every day.

Going natural can take time: your texture reveals itself little by little, especially after years of straightening. A good cut to remove damaged ends, a regular moisture routine and a little patience make all the difference.

To get started, read our 4C hair routine and learn how to identify your curl type.

Do you cut men’s and kids’ curly and coily hair?

Yes. The studio welcomes women, men and kids with curly or coily hair. Men’s cuts start at $65, and kids’ cuts, from age 6 or 7, start at $50. Every cut works with the texture and natural shape of your curls.

With younger clients, Bianca takes her time: gentle detangling, no pulling, and explanations for parents. Everything about our kids’ curly hair salon.

How do I keep natural Black hair healthy?

Healthy natural hair mostly needs moisture and a gentle touch. Wash with a sulfate-free shampoo, deep condition every wash day, layer moisture on damp hair and protect it at night with satin. Regular trims remove damaged ends before they break.

Avoid detangling dry and cut back on heat. If your hair never seems to grow, it’s often breaking at the ends, and shrinkage can hide up to 70% of its real length.

How much does a natural hair appointment cost in Montreal?
